Mazafati date is cultivated mainly in Bam City in Kerman Province of Iran. Mazafati date is also known as Bam Date, Kimia, or Rotab. 

Most Mazafati dates in Iran are grown in the city of Bam. Specifically, approximately 10,000 hectares of land in Bam are allocated to cultivate Mazafati dates. 

However, some other cities of Iran also produce Mazafati, including Reygan, Jiroft, Kahnuj, Anbarabad, Baravat, Qaleh Ganj, Saravan, and Iranshahr.

Ajwa date fruit is cultivated in Medina, Saudi Arabia, in limited quantities. Ajwa dates are also known as Medina Date, Ajwa Khajoor, and Holy Date. 

As Ajwa date is cultivated in limited quantities, it is the most expensive type of data in the world.

Mazafati dates are characterized by an oval shape and a black color. On the other hand, Ajwa dates also possess an oval shape, ranging from oval to circular, and they share a black color, albeit darker than Mazafati dates.

Mazafati dates typically vary in size from medium to large, whereas Ajwa dates mostly fall within the range of small to medium. Mazafati dates are generally larger in size compared to Ajwa dates.

Mazafati’s skin is almost wrinkle-free, while Ajwa’s skin is semi-wrinkled. However, both Mazafati and Ajwa have shiny skin. They are meaty with soft flesh.
