Al Mehtari Date Origin
Al Mehtari date is a tasty Iran date, produced mainly in Minab City, the second largest city in the Hormozgan Province of Iran.
Hormozgan Province produces over 150,000 MT of various date varieties annually. It has over 34,000 Hectare palm groves.
Minab City is the country’s first region where the harvesting of Al Mehtari dates starts every year in the first half of June.
Other Hormozgan Cities, like Bandar Abbas, Rudan, and Sirik, also produce Al Mehtari.
Al Mehtari has become one of the famous souvenirs of Minab, Bandar Abbas, and Rudan cities.
Since the Al Mehtari date of Minab is the first date variety harvested from the palm groves in Hormozgan Province, it has many fans in spring and summer. The Piarom date is the last type harvested from the Hormozgan palm groves.
