Urea Markets in the World
In the Asian capro market, spot prices are stable.
This week’s range is made up of the deals agreed.
In Bangladesh, last business was concluded in the mid/high $330s/ tonne CFR under the 18 December 2018 tender for 25,000 tonnes each of prilled and granular urea.
AMERICAS In the US, after a week of virtually no business having been concluded, two deals took place both at $270/short ton FOB for January and February shipment.
The Egyptian UAN range is steady.
The facility at Bulo Bulo has the capacity to generate 2,100 tonnes/day of granular urea and 1,200 tonnes/day of ammonia.
There was some discussion about a trade at $262/short ton FOB, but this was widely contested since for much of the shorter working week, bids were in the mid-to-upper $260s/short ton FOB, with offers in the low-to-mid $270s/short ton.
In South Korea, Capro Corp plans to resume discussions about supplying some of its AS production to North Korea.
urea price comparison Also, Krishi Samagri Company Limited (KSCL) - formerly AICL – is tendering for 30,000 tonnes of urea, closing 21 January.
Meanwhile, sentiment remains weak with many buyers expressing a reluctance to commit amid market uncertainty.
US sources said the Nola barge sector was simply waiting for some fresh direction from the international market.
As the week progressed, paper values eased, with January offered at $211/short ton FOB amid buying interest at $203/short ton FOB.
However, Chinese producers are yet to support these levels.
In the US, physical values were supported by paper business agreed late last week at $216/short ton FOB on for the first quarter and $218/short ton FOB and $219/short ton FOB for February and March respectively.
Cost package is estimated at $17-18/tonne from the Arab Gulf and $20-21/tonne from China.
