Renault declared that the negotiation about the merge of Renault and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) were related to the past and did not continued anymore. Fiat Chrysler suggested a $35 billion merge to Renault but they didn’t accept. The French government as the Renault’s biggest shareholder (12%) disagreed and emphasized that first of all, Japan’s Nissan as the old companion of Renault should accept.
According to the French finance minister, Bruno Le Maire, the agreement had not been reached on all the government’s conditions for a deal. He added “What remained to be obtained was the explicit support of Nissan,”
