Lithium is the main part of green energy that has various uses including lithium-ion batteries in electronic industry, electric vehicle and cars. Due to the industry movement in this regard, lithium is known as a valuable metal. Lithium’s consumption in industry had increased 10 times since 2015. In global markets, Australia (35%) and Chile (34%) respectively are the first and second producer and exporter of lithium.
Iran is also among the few countries that have resources of this rare element. New explorations show that Iran has rich sources of lithium in Mashhad and Zahedan, requiring investment in this area. Tianqi and Ganfeng are great Chinese producers of lithium-ion batteries. Lithium demand is high in China and though there are many sources of lithium in this country, it imports large quantities of lithium from Australia, Chile and Argentina.
